No, We Do Not Move Your Fridge to Narnia

Introduction

Let me start with something honest. If I earned a dollar every time someone assumed I could pull their fridge out with one hand and reveal a secret world behind it, I would probably open a second company by now.

Cleaning is both my job and my passion, but there is a significant difference between what people imagine we do and what professional cleaners actually do.

So today I am sharing the truth in a friendly, funny and very real way. And yes, the fridge stays where it is.

What Cleaners Actually Do

(The Real Version)

One

We Clean What Is Safe to Clean.

I love your home. I love your family. But I also love having a healthy lower back.

Professional cleaners do not move appliances such as fridges or stoves, or washing machines. Not because we do not want to. Because doing so can scratch floors, break wires or injure a cleaner. It is also against industry safety standards across Canada.

If your fridge is modern and slides easily, then yes, sometimes we can move it a little. But only when it is safe for both the appliance and the cleaner.

Two

We Are Here for Quality, Not Weightlifting.

A real cleaning includes work such as:

  • Degreasing kitchen surfaces.

  • Scrubbing and disinfecting bathrooms.

  • Dusting reachable areas.

  • Vacuuming and mopping floors.

  • Cleaning handles and switches.

  • Cleaning baseboards if reachable.

  • Spot cleaning walls and doors.

  • Garbage removal.

  • Tidying upon request.

This is where expertise matters. Technique and experience, not heavy lifting.

Three

We Protect Your Surfaces While We Clean.

Many people do not realize this, but cleaning is not just wiping things down. We also need to protect the materials in your home.

Different surfaces need different products. Some materials are tough. Some act dramatically like a vintage auntie at a wedding.

Examples:

  • Raw wood does not like harsh chemicals.

  • Marble can be ruined by vinegar.

  • Stainless steel gets streaks from the wrong cloth.

  • Vinyl can warp from high-heat steam.

  • Antique wood can lose its colour from regular cleaners.

  • Granite reacts badly to acidic sprays.

  • Mirrors get ghost streaks from poor-quality glass cleaners.

So yes, part of our job is preventing damage while making everything shine.

Four

We Know Which Products Can Be Mixed and Which Ones Should Never Meet Each Other.

Please do not follow every cleaning video you see online, especially the ones that look like chemistry class experiments.

Some products cannot be mixed for safety reasons. Cleaners are trained to avoid reactions that are harmful or toxic.

We know:

  • What disinfects?

  • What deodorizes?

  • What breaks down grease?

  • What damages the coating?

  • What is safe for natural stone?

  • And what should never be mixed with bleach?

You are not just hiring a cleaner. You are hiring safety.

Five

We Work Fast Because We Know the Flow.

People often think cleaners are fast because we cut corners.

No!

We are fast because we know how to move through a home with a system.

Cleaning as a homeowner often becomes,

  1. Wipe one spot

  2. Notice something else

  3. Get distracted

  4. Start reorganizing a drawer

  5. Scroll on your phone for five minutes

  6. Repeat

Cleaning as a professional is completely different. We move with a rhythm. A flow. No wasted motion. This is why a cleaner can do a six-hour job in three hours.

Six

We Do Not Judge You Ever

You would be shocked at the things cleaners see.

Nothing surprises us anymore.

  • Laundry mountains

  • Post travel chaos

  • Post-breakup chaos

  • Glitter explosions

  • Pet fur storms

  • Mystery smells

Your home does not scare us. We are not here to judge. We are here to help.

What We Do Not Do

Here is the real list of tasks we cannot perform because of safety, insurance and professional standards.

  1. Moving heavy appliances.

  2. Climbing unsafe heights.

  3. Cleaning mould.

  4. Handling large amounts of animal waste.

  5. Repairing broken furniture.

  6. Fixing electrical problems.

  7. Taking apart appliances or fixtures.

We stay in the zone that is safe and professional. Always.

Final Thoughts

I created MOP2TOP because I love the feeling of a clean, calm home, and I love giving that feeling to families across the GTA and Durham Region.

We are not magicians. We are trained cleaners who use safe tools, good products and a lot of heart. We lift dirt, not fridges.

Unless Aslan personally requests a service. Then we can negotiate.
